Data Source:Month-branch derived from solar terms + day-stem-branch from 60-cycle anchor. Verdict follows the common Taiwan almanac rule: 8 of 12 Officers (chu, man, ding, zhi, wei, cheng, shou, kai) are auspicious for marriage; the 4 forbidden are jian, ping, po, bi.
Different almanac traditions may disagree (some incorporate the 28 lunar mansions, hongshade, yang gong taboos, zodiac clashes, etc.). This tool is a first filter only — consult your trusted almanac or a professional date-selector for the final decision.
FAQ
What is the Twelve Officers system?
The Twelve Officers (建除滿平定執破危成收開閉) is a 12-day cyclic system in the traditional Chinese calendar. Taiwan almanacs commonly mark 8 of these (chu, man, ding, zhi, wei, cheng, shou, kai) as auspicious for marriage, and 4 as forbidden: jian, ping, po, bi. This tool follows that convention.
My almanac disagrees with this tool?
Possible reasons: (1) Different almanac traditions use stricter or looser rules; (2) This tool only implements the Twelve Officers framework and excludes 28 mansions, hongshade, yang gong taboos, and zodiac clashes; (3) This tool only supports 2026 solar-term data. Defer to your almanac.
Do I need to provide our birth charts?
Full traditional date selection also considers each partner's birth chart and zodiac clashes. This tool provides general auspicious dates only — consult a professional for personalized advice.
Can I marry on a non-recommended day?
Yes. Modern couples often prioritize weekends, birthdays, or anniversaries. Just avoid major taboos like po-day, bi-day, and yang gong taboo days. 'Not recommended' ≠ 'forbidden'.
Which years are supported?
Currently 2026 and 2027. Solar term dates shift by 1–2 days each year due to Earth's orbit, so each year's calendar must be manually verified. The next year is added before the end of the previous one.
